Dana L. Henry Completes Undergraduate Degree

According to bestcolleges.com, nearly 94 million Americans have earned a degree. With that being said, many of us may know someone with a degree but that doesn’t necessarily mean we know and understand their story.  Yes, we all have a journey and we all have a story, but sometimes, special consideration should be given to the impact that our journey and story may have on our lives and the access to things we perceive as success. When thinking of the recent graduation of our Corporate Ambassador Intern, Dana L. Henry, one must reflect on her inspirational path toward earning her undergraduate academic degree.

Over the years, we’ve witnessed a young Dana, graduate from high school and begin her voyage toward self-discovery and adulthood. This admittedly shy, young lady has faced her fears of public speaking by participating in LIAP events, giving her account of the impact LIAP has had on her life, and most recently, acting in our LIAP’s Brother empowerMENt opening video.  She has even embraced her flawless and natural beauty by becoming LIAP’s youngest and newest spokesmodel.  Privately, Dana has expressed an interest in doing more in the performing arts arena, beginning with community theater.  Later, she would like to spread her wings into the technical writing space, graphics design, and systems integration. Honestly, Dana is limitless in her skills and abilities.  Talented is an understatement.

With the completion of this degree, it is our hope that Dana will see that all of those late nights and stress-filled moments were worth it while giving her a deeper understanding of knowing how truly gifted she really is.  So, in essence, why worry at all?  This capstone to one journey is a gateway to another.  Don’t stop progressing, Dana, until you have reached self-actualization.  Embrace your remarkableness.

Dana has balanced college work with supporting her mother with the care of her brothers while providing assistance at the art studio.  To meet Dana is to meet a reminder that there is still pure innocence in the world with a side of comical relief.  Equally, she is the product of the impeccable upbringing of Deon and Tara Henry. Reminding parents to continue to push their children toward greatness while being patient as they navigate through life. This graduation has elevated all of us who are connected to Dana to pursue our dreams and don’t hold back. This is also a reminder the village is still necessary.

Congratulations, Dana Lynn Henry on the completion of your Associate of Arts Degree.
